Q: How is XpresSmile different from dentist LED whitening like Zoom?
A. XpresSmile's process and material are very similar to the dentist's in product quality and technology. Both the dentist and XpresSmile use Hydrogen Peroxide as the bleaching agent and LED lights to accelerate the bleaching process. XpresSmile uses Hydrogen Peroxide of 12 or 16% while the dentist may use up to 25-35% strength. Gels of this strength may provide a few shades whiter teeth but almost always lead to extreme teeth and gum sensitivity. XpresSmile provides 2-10 shades whiter teeth-nearly the same whitening results as the dentist- with little or no sensitivity.
Q: How is XpresSmile different from dentist take home trays?
A. Dental take home trays use a lower concentration of bleach (hydrogen peroxide) in a different formula called Carbamide Peroxide which is better suited for home whitening because it is a more stable form of hydrogen peroxide. Carbamide requires 20-30 minutes to begin the oxidation process and releases only 50% of its active ingredient in the first 2 hours and the rest over the next 4-6 hours. This is why the trays must be worn for several hours each day. With LED whitening, the teeth are exposed to a higher gel concentration for a much shorter amount of time enabling the customer to whiten their teeth in less than an hour and with less impact to the enamel.
Q: How is our Whitening product different than over-the-counter strips?
A. White strips use a low concentration of hydrogen peroxide (2-8%) compared with 12-16% in XpresSmile. While this low concentration will whiten the teeth, it will take continuous usage for many days or weeks. White Strips only remove the or surface stains whereas XpresSmile utilizes the power of the light and stronger gels to bubble down into the tubules (pores) of the teeth and remove intrinsic stains as well.
Q: I have sensitive teeth and have found that most systems leave me with pain after I use them. Will XpresSmile leave me in pain?
A: XpresSmile uses a water-based gel that is specially PH balanced to reduce the amount of dehydration of the teeth. Because the teeth are not exposed to the gel for hours or days, teeth sensitivity is very rare. If it does happen, using the XpresSmile Enamel Boosters after the bleaching process will seal and fill the "pores" of the teeth so that the nerves are not exposed and the teeth are not sensitive to air or cold. Using vaseline or vitamin E swabs will reduce and help calm down any potential gum irritation.
Q: Is XpreSmile FDA approved?
A: Quality is a commitment to excellence and the lab is where quality begins. XpresSmile's laboratory is FDA registered and follows guidelines imposed on US dental manufacturers such as QS (Quality System) and CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) which are the strictest in the industry. Not all cosmetic teeth whitening vendors use FDA registered labs because the registration process is expensive, time consuming and requires the lab to allow regular inspections and to follow strict processes . Only the very best labs are FDA registered. FDA registration guarantees that XpresSmile products have the same quality, purity, consistency and strength as products used by your dentist. In fact, our lab is a supplier to leading dentists including dental schools like U.C.L.A.
Q: Will Teeth Whitening or XpresSmile harm the teeth?
A: No. Research shows that orange juice is more corrosive to the enamel than LED teeth whitening. Because the teeth are exposed to the gel for less than an hour, the enamel is not affected. However, constant whitening with over-the-counter strips or trays will soften enamel so it is important to use the XpresSmile Enamel Boosters after any type of whitening.
Q: Will Teeth Whitening or XpresSmile hurt the soft tissue?
A: No. The XpresSmile process when administered with care will not hurt your mouth or soft tissue. People with periodontal disease (gum disease), or excessive caries (cavities), should be treated for these conditions prior to using XpresSmile. The active ingredient in the bleaching gel itself is safe. If sensitivity to the soft tissue does happen, this means an existing dental or oral health condition of the person using the product is being aggravated.
Q: What happens if the bleaching gel or XpresSmile is ingested?
A: The XpresSmile formula is nontoxic and safe to swallow, though we do not recommend eating it outright.
Q: How long will the results last?
A: Teeth whitened with XpresSmile will stay noticeably whiter for up to 6 months, however, periodic "touch ups" should be performed to keep your smile its brightest. Your unique combination of age, foods, beverages, smoking habits and tooth structure will influence the long-term results.
Q: Who can benefit from XpresSmile?
A: Anyone from 16 to 100 who wants a more confident, vibrant smile. For those who are pregnant, considering getting pregnant or lactating, it is recommended you contact your physician before using XpresSmile.
Q: If I pregnant or lactating, can I have my teeth whitened?
No. It is advised that you do not have your teeth whitened.
Q: Can I have my children's teeth whitened?
Children must be 16 years old before they have their teeth whitened.
Q: I have sensitive teeth how will this affect me?
A: We suggest you brush your teeth with Sensodyne White Tooth paste two weeks prior to making your whitening appointment. This will lessen any sensitivity you may have. The water based gel should not affect the sensitivity of your teeth. |
